1. Cleaning methods, especially those involving water or chemicals, can damage the carpet fibers or leave behind residue, making the carpet look and feel dirtier.
This can be true... but
It all depends on the equipment used.
Specific modern day equipment eliminates outdated results.
A true carpet cleaning "professional" knows the above to be true, and does intensive research on what exact equipment is needed.
It's very expensive.
In order to avoid the above problem, carpet cleaning equipment needs extremely powerful vacuum suction. This is the only way all the dirt and water will be removed from your carpet with quick dry time. A professional carpet cleaner should have proper cleaning agents and green clean options as well, to accommodate clients individual needs.
Many carpet cleaners mean well, look professional, yet use inferior equipment and products.
2. Renting a Do It Yourself carpet cleaning machine
gets my carpet clean and it's good enough.
This may be true but...
If you don't get 100% of the dirt out from deep inside your carpet, you've caused yourself a lot of hassle and work and may have wasted your time and money. It's like taking an expensive evening gown, throwing it into your washing machine, then the dryer and saying; it's good enough for a night out. Compare that to bringing it to a professional dry cleaner, where they bring out the very best of your clothing.
Renting a DIY carpet cleaning machine from a home center, will not have powerful suction to extract the deep down dirt embedded in your carpet and will not be powerful enough to extract the water that is applied by the machine.
Dry times can be days. It really can be a hassle.
Plus; you have to pay for the rental and generic chemicals anyway.
3. Many carpet cleaning companies,
do rush jobs, make excuses and try to get me to spend more money.
They bait n switch, they can be
unscrupulous and a hassle to work with.
I don't like tricks.
Quite frankly, I get uneasy with them in my home.
Unfortunately, this can be true but...
If you work with a smaller, family owned business, you will avoid all these shenanigans.
Family businesses are much more upfront with pricing and they pride themselves on superior work and superior work ethic. Having a father/son team or a husband/wife team, in most cases, takes the concern out of having some "run-of-the-mill" carpet
cleaner lurking around your home.
4. I vacuum my carpets regularly, and this keeps my carpet clean and nice. You should see all the dirt I dump from my vac into the garbage.
Yes. Very true but...
Most people don't realize, it's the deeply embedded dirt and silt all the way down, deep into your carpet which causes the problem. Dirt, dust and silt will naturally settle into your carpet between vacuum times. But how is that possible if you vacuum regularly?
Carpet will filter dust and soil particles naturally from the air, along with the natural breakdown of carpet fibers. Foot traffic also contributes to the problem between vacuum times, by breaking down and dislodging particles that can work their way down into the carpet's backing. This silt will cut your carpet fibers like a knife and slowly degrade your carpet.
, The dust and dirt begin to cause allergy like symptoms. Then come the dust mites, and believe it or not, some of the most well kept carpets have dust mites, which cause sneezing fits, watery eyes and itchy throat.
Your vacuum can only do so much.
. True professional carpet cleaning will extract and remove all of those nasties
leaving you with the most thoroughly cleaned carpet.
Factory Fresh indeed.
5. I don't bother with carpet cleaning because
furniture moving is a back ache
and a hassle and causes too much
disruption in the
household. Yes, that's true but...
In reality, things like china cabinets, heavy wooden desks, book cases, solid beds and large sofas rarely get moved from their spots for years, so there is no dirt under them.
The only time you would have these furniture pieces moved, is if you were planning on
re-arranging your room. Other than that, it's not necessary because certain carpet cleaning machinery, cleans right up to the very edges of that furniture.
Smaller items like recliners, coffee tables and plant stands are actually moved and then replaced by an accommodating carpet cleaner, at no extra cost
Once the furniture is put back, clear, thin, disposable plastic film, is placed under the legs of these types of furniture to protect the legs while the carpet dries. When the carpet is fully dry in a few hours, you simply pull out the plastic film squares, and throw them away.
It's all really that simple IF you hire the right company.

Many people believe carpet cleaning is very expensive but....you really should consider the costly problems a neglected carpet can cause you.
+ If you haven't had your carpets cleaned in a year or so...for breathing health concerns and accumulated allergens, it's probably time.
+ Over three years...the waste water from your carpet will be brown or black.
Removing the hidden nasties creates smooth, clean, healthy breathing again,
and of course...a beautiful, like new, spakrling clean carpet.
+ 5 years + or heaven forbid 10 years or more of no carpet cleaning...your carpet is like a dry swamp with nasties deeply embedded in your carpet and you have a very unhealthy breathing environment and a carpet screaming for help. Again, the "right" carpet cleaner can bring your carpet back to life with a vibrant, sparkling clean, that you could let a baby play on.
Respiratory issues are no joke, and will cost you in more ways than one
when you ignore your carpet!
Carpet Master Makes Carpet Cleaning Fun!
